What is PrimalMed?.. In man’s never ending search for the fountain of youth, we must never lose sight of the real goal.. optimal healthspan. Living a robust and vital life filled with purpose, energy and vitality with a compressed morbidity seems to make a lot of sense to a lot of people. Momento Mori.. remember death, the Stoics said… but at what cost? Circling the drain for the last 10 years of your life with daily visits to CVS, Walgreens is for most of us.. not the best way to say bon voyage.
Everyone has their own path, their own personal prescription if you will towards optimal healthspan, optimal health and wellness. At PrimalMed, we don’t subscribe to a restrictive mindset or diet. Paleo or Keto ?.. Meat or Veggies?.. Meat with fruit? Meat without fruit?.. Intermittent fast or Time restricted eating or feeding?… Is it sugar or Industrial Seed Oils that are slowly killing us? Structured workouts or meaningful movement? Running or walking?.. Crossfit or just squats and pushups? Coffee good or coffee moldy and toxic?… Plants great or lectin timebombs?..and what about those damn mitochondria?… Yikes.. its enough to make anyone go bonkers!
My PrimalMed prescription may be very different from yours but our basic premise is that looking at Ancestral tenets of nutrition, movement, stress mitigation, optimal sleep pattern, finding daily purpose and community etc..optimizing your “inputs” so that you maximize your outputs seems like a good starting point.
So welcome to my random musings on Metabolic Health through the lens of a Radiologist, who on a daily basis images the diseases and afflictions of modern man.
